With a heavy heart I’m sad to say that Fang passed away on November 13th, at 18 years of age. This sweet little dove came into our lives in October 2013, after we adopted him from Palomacy Pigeon and Dove Rescue. Fang was a model of pure innocence. He enjoyed coming out of his cage to hang out with us. And our other birds welcomed him with open wings. Below is a collection of photos of Fang and his friends.

For the past few months, Fang has been exhibiting bouts of frailty and slowness. He no longer was able to hop onto his shelves and he no longer seemed perky. Then a few days ago it appeared that he had a stroke. His neck was twisted to one side and he had difficulty moving half of his body. It made me sad to find Fang’s lifeless body. But I take comfort in that he’s no longer suffering, able to spread his wing strong, and soar in the great beyond with a huge smile. We miss that gentle little dove and grateful to have had the opportunity to take care of him in his twilight years.
